Towards the rainy season, Jakarta Provincial Government keeps accelerating the flood-tackle programs. One of the ways is speed up the repair of water pump and water channel dredging.

We targeted to finish in two weeks

Tri Djoko Sri Margianto, Jakarta Head Dept. of Water Management, said the repair is applied in Waduk Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. One out of three pumps is broken.

" We targeted to finish in two weeks ," he said, Thursday (10/8).

According to him, another broken water pump is in Sunter area. It is being repaired now.

The channel dredging is also run along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta. "We're optimistic to minimize the flood this year," he added.
